After just one year, Schmidt + Bartl GmbH calculates 90% of its CNC components automatically and saves 1200 hours a year with Imnoo.

Schmidt+Bartl GmbH has been manufacturing plastic components since 2006 and makes a significant contribution to the production efficiency of its customers with its large product portfolio of engineering plastics. In addition to the broad portfolio of standard products, the company also supplies customized products, which has led to an increasing complexity of the components to be manufactured.

Before Schmidt+Bartl GmbH came across Imnoo's software on the Internet, up to 60 components a day were calculated. As the focus is on small batch sizes, the calculations were complex and often based on the experience of experienced employees. This led to calculations that were not always accurate and programming on CAM was too time-consuming for CNC component calculation. As the product portfolio grew, so did the pressure to find a CNC part costing solution that could calculate parts more accurately, efficiently and quickly.

Accurate and reliable machine runtime calculation thanks to Imnoo

In order to have a software solution for more precise machine runtimes and therefore better planning reliability, the company opted for Imnoo's automated CNC component calculation solution based on machine learning technology. With a large range of components (5mm x 5mm x 5mm to 3000mm x 2000mm x 500mm milled components), calculations are time-consuming. Added to this was the increasing complexity of the requested range of CNC milled and turned components. This complex range of parts means that experts have to be consulted in the event of uncertainties, which ties them up and prevents them from continuing to work productively. The Imnoo software solution was introduced in order to be able to provide customers with quotations quickly, efficiently and in the desired quality in the future.

With Imnoo, the quotation process is automated step by step. The data for the requested component is loaded into the Imnoo calculator. "Marvin", Imnoo's artificial intelligence, then checks the feasibility of the requested CNC component by analyzing 3D drawings and comparing new components with existing components. In this way, the software calculates CNC components in seconds with a high degree of accuracy and relieves the burden on experts. In addition, the software can be easily integrated into the daily work routine, post-calculations can be easily recorded and transferred to "Marvin". The more good quality data is given to "Marvin", the more accurate the calculations are. After just two months, the break-even point was reached and after 1500 CNC components were uploaded to the calculator, a time saving of 50% was achieved. Over the year as a whole, Schmidt+Bartl GmbH only had to invest a total of five working days in importing CNC milled and turned part data and can now save 1200 hours.

Today, 90% of CNC components at Schmidt+Bartl are calculated simply and automatically with Imnoo. Where experts and their experience used to be decentralized in the company, this is now digitalized and bundled in a central location. Today, Marvin's calculations (10% accurate) contribute to a significant improvement in process reliability in the quotation process and are much faster and easier to use than a CAM program in the quotation process.
